I created my media product in Photoshop. It is a print-based advertisement: designed as a poster and also suitable for a magazine page ad. My advertisement product and brand were both made up by myself and consist of a make-up product (an eyeshadow palette) by BOOM luxury products. I also produced the photographic content of the poster myself.
This is a very busy image and perhaps you need to follow the diktat that "less is more" in design. I think that your book jacket is a much more successful design. With advertising you also need to consider the hook that you are using to ensnare the consumer (read "The Hidden Persuaders" by Vance Packard) and how you make connections between the signifiers (the girl, the Bambi deer and the landscape) and the signified (the product). Go back to Williamson's "Decoding Advrtisements". Is the irony between the promise of a natural look and the plastic-ness of the girl and the deer intentional?
